Void

The leaves fell

The winds squalled

The flowers drenched

The petals detached

The puddles formed

The mud’s mashed

The summer’s passed

On that raining day

I remember your body where it once laid.

Red umbrella

Back dress

Mud and dirt

The coffin stood

The eyes closed

The cries around

The priest moaned

On that raining day

I remembered your body where it once laid.

The light’s off

The night’s dark

The house’s deserted

The room’s silent

The bed’s empty

The hearts hallow

The tears fell

On that raining day

I remembered your body where it once laid.

Please bare with me.

I am NOT good at creating poems.

It is like torture for me. My vocabulary’s low, my words aren’t strong, the only thing i have is an imagination which i find difficult to put into words. =/

I have not yet read through the poems that were assigned but if i were to think of  a poet with a famous death poem, the first person that comes across my mind would be Lord tennyson and his “In Memoriam.”

“Tis better to have loved and lost

Than never to have loved at all” (XXVII)
