My Failed Attempt at an Iambic Pentameter!

da-DUM, da-DUM, da-DUM, da-DUM, da-DUM

Why is creating a sonnet so hard?

Flipping the pen until my thumb goes numb

I stare so long I fear I may be scarred

From fourteen lines, I have nine more to go

Each must end with an A-B-A-B rhyme

Merging five iambic feet in a row

This ancient form is such a waste of time

Stressed, unstressed, three quatrains and a couplet

It’s 6 AM and my head is spinning

Can’t I just go back and hug my blanket?

This is all making me Oh so tiring!

At last! Only one! One more line to come!

da-DUM, da-DUM, da-DUM, da-DUM, da-DUM

This was my failed attempt to create an iambic pentameter poem. =/ da-DUM turned into DA-dum instead.
